At about 6am this morning, I was sitting in my car listening to a CD I had burned the night before.
It was full of songs, both bittersweet and uplifting.
I spent this little piece of morning crying and trying to come to terms with the way my life would be from now on. I kept remembering all the good times I had with the woman who I once called "my baby girl". They were good times, indeed, but there are more ahead of me. I just hope that she can find happiness too someday. I still love her, but things can never be the same - nor should they. Life goes on and so must I move with it.
I wanted to remember this day the way my mother told me it would be.
"Bubba, this is the first day of the rest of your life."
They were beautiful words that seem to come at the right time. She's been a huge help to me through all of this.
This is actually one of (if not) your best photos yet. Sometimes sorrow tends to bring out wonderful art. I'm glad to see you're dealing with this properly. Take care man.
